The Fine Margins: Raptors Uprising GC drops The Turn opener to Heat Check Gaming

In dramatic fashion, Raptors Uprising GC fell to a narrow 74-73 defeat at the hands of Heat Check Gaming in their group play opener of The Turn.

After bowing out of group play during The Tipoff, Toronto turned their focus to putting on a strong performance in The Turn to bolster their hopes of reaching 5v5 playoffs.

Yet, the squad will have their work cut out for them already after their loss to Miami.

In a game that truly could have gone either way, both sides were in it to win it, Raptors Uprising will undoubtedly be thinking about their missed chances following a one-point loss.

Gazulli led the team in scoring with 25 points, with Mooch not far behind with 23. BallLikeSeem picked up a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Haam also notched double figures in points with 11.

Post-game, head coach Roy Krishnan shared his thoughts on the result.

“I think it’s a really good step in the right direction for our team. We’re not going to let one point at the end of the game define who we are.”

“Pretty happy with how we played overall, just unfortunate the ball didn’t bounce our way in the end.”

“If we play that way for the rest of the tournament, we’re going to be playing on the stage for a lot of money.”

Ahead of the next game, Krishnan was buoyant that his squad would turn things around quickly.

“At the end of the day, this is a loss, but it’s just a one-point loss.”

“If our guards play the way they played tonight, we’re going to be a tough team to beat.”

Raptors Uprising GC takes on the Gen.G Tigers on Thursday, June 22nd, with tipoff scheduled for 8:15pm ET.
