That’s More Like It: Raptors Uprising GC records statement victory over Cavs Legion GC

What a way to start the week.

Raptors Uprising GC began week two of The Turn group play with an emphatic 77-59 victory over Cavs Legion GC.

Toronto is now 2-2 with two games left to play before a potential bracket-play berth.

Following a massive win over NBL Oz Gaming on Friday, Raptors Uprising knew they had to carry that momentum into the new week. And that they did.

In spite of the Cavs taking a one-point lead at the end of the first quarter, Toronto bounced right back and scored 22 points in the second quarter, nine more than their Eastern Conference rival.

The push continued in the third quarter with Raptors Uprising putting up another 24.

A strong fourth quarter was the cherry on top as Toronto wrapped up a much-needed 18-point victory ahead of the final stretch of the group play.

Mooch and Gazulli starred once again, recording 25 and 21 points respectively. Haam and BallLikeSeem were also in double figures for points with 14 and 11 each.

Seem notched himself a double-double with 12 rebounds to go along with his 11 points.

After the win, Gazulli spoke on the important result for him and his team.

“We had a gameplan coming into this week, we executed, and it worked out in our favour.”

Gazulli also discussed what it’s like to play under head coach Roy Krishnan.

“He [Roy] actually plays the game, he loads up, understands the game, and that’s quite helpful.”

Ahead of the final two games of group play, Gazulli expressed how the squad needs to get focused despite recording a second straight win.

“Starting tonight, we have to lock right back in, get our individual specifics noted, and then just try to make those games as easy as possible to win with our preparation.”

Raptors Uprising will conclude The Turn group play with a doubleheader against Wizards District Gaming and Magic Gaming. Toronto takes on Washington at 7pm ET before facing Orlando at 8:15pm ET.
