Raptors Uprising GC Protects Trio Ahead Of 2023 NBA 2K League Expansion Draft

Raptors Uprising GC has announced that the team will be protecting Kenneth “Kenny Got Work” Hailey, Xavier “Type” Vescovi, and Xavier “Big Saint” St. John ahead of the upcoming NBA 2K League Expansion Draft.
“This is not a rebuilding league,” said newly appointed Head Coach Roy Krishnan regarding the decision to protect the trio.
“You see teams that escalate to success so quickly, but it’s not guaranteed that draft picks will make you better. So, we know who can produce on the court and off the court, as leaders, as competitors, and as individuals.”
In spite of the 2022 season outcome for the team, Kenny, Saint, and Type were key players for Raptors Uprising, and will look to lead the squad to bigger and better moments in the new year.
Kenny was the first-round pick of Raptors Uprising GC during the inaugural 2018 NBA 2K League season, going 11th overall. With his sixth season in Toronto on the horizon, the guard will have all eyes on guiding Raptors Uprising to new heights come the start of the season.
Type was selected by Warriors Gaming Squad in the fourth round (52nd overall) of the 2018 NBA 2K League Draft. Raptors Uprising then acquired Type in a trade with Hornets Venom GT in November 2020.
Raptors Uprising picked up Saint during the second round of the 2022 NBA 2K League Draft with pick No. 23. A personality both on and off the court, Saint excelled in the forward role last season and will look to continue his personal growth in the NBA 2K League in 2023.
**FantaSZN** and **Plondo** have been left unprotected for the Expansion Draft.
On October 6th, the NBA 2K League announced its newest expansion team, NBL Oz Gaming, who will be representing Australia and the National Basketball League. The squad becomes the third expansion team from outside of North America to join the NBA 2K League.
The NBA 2K League Expansion Draft is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 5th, 2022. The event will be streamed on the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
