One To Remember: Raptors Uprising GC fights back to dispatch Wizards District Gaming in D.C.

Playing on the biggest stage in the NBA 2K League, Raptors Uprising GC made it a trip to remember, recording a 55-49 victory over Wizards District Gaming in the squad’s third game of Tipoff group play.

Toronto is now 2-1 heading into their final three games before bracket play.

With Raptors Uprising looking to bounce back following a disappointing loss to Celtics Crossover Gaming just two days prior, Roy Krishnan’s team already had their work cut out for them after the first half against the Wizards.

The hosts held a five-point lead at halftime, with Toronto needing a response in the second half if they were to take control. And you know what? The squad did just that.

After narrowing the deficit to one point in the third, Raptors Uprising then produced one of their most effective quarters this season, finishing the Wizards off by a final score of 55-49.

Post-victory, head coach Roy Krishnan spoke on what this experience meant to his young team.

“It’s always great to get our rookies some stage experience. We were happy to get the W in such a gritty game. Good teams win good games, great teams win the bad ones. We didn’t play at our full capacity, but we still got it done.”

Krishnan then described just how important it was to remain composed throughout the entirety of the game.

“Staying composed is part of being a professional. All five members of this team are professionals. We understand things aren’t always going to be perfect.”

“No matter what happens, we always think we’ve got the chance to win.”

Toronto’s second half performance changed the dynamic of the game, and Krishnan explained what sparked his team’s admirable fightback.

“We were putting up great shots, just needed to calm down and hit them.”

“We knew we were putting up open ones and they were shooting contested ones. Sooner or later, our shots were going to drop.”

Raptors Uprising now returns home to get set for a double-header on Tuesday, May 30th. First up, the squad takes on Knicks Gaming at 7pm ET before going up against Magic Gaming at 9pm ET.
