Nightmare Of A Night: Raptors Uprising GC drop two crucial games to leave destiny out of their hands

The end of Tipoff bracket play is looming, and Raptors Uprising GC suffered two major blows in their pursuit of the next round, falling 48-62 to Knicks Gaming, and 61-75 to Magic Gaming.

Toronto’s two defeats see them drop to 2-3 in their group, with just one game left to play.

As per head coach Roy Krishnan, Raptors Uprising’s hopes of a top-two finish in their group are virtually over as the squad now needs not only a big win against Cavs Legion GC, but also to hope other results go their way.

In their first game of the night against the Knicks, Toronto got off to a sluggish start, going down 11 points after the opening quarter.

Despite fighting back in the second, a dismal third quarter, which saw the Raptors fall 17 points behind going into the fourth, was ultimately the nail in the coffin.

Mooch and BallLikeSeem were the only two Raptors to put up double digits in points against New York, recording 14 and 12 respectively.

A bounce back was more than needed in the squad’s second game of the evening against the Magic, but in the end, it was a similar story.

Another slow start saw Toronto’s opponents take control early on and leave Raptors Uprising’s work cut out for them.

Orlando won every quarter, which culminated in a 14-point victory for Toronto’s Eastern Conference rival.

In spite of the result, Gazulli dropped 22 points in the game, with Mooch and Seem once again in double figures. Seem’s 10 rebounds against the Magic also earned him a double-double.

Post-game, Krishnan spoke on his team’s disappointing night.

“It was a nightmare night, literally a nightmare night.”

“Of all the outcomes that could have possibly helped us or hurt us, we lost by double digits in both games. We were tied for first in the group, now we’re amongst the back half.”

Krishan then discussed how his team will need to regroup following the losses.

“I think what tonight will show is our resolve going forward and how strong we can come back.”

“Our goal is still to be on that stage in D.C., we just have to go out there on Thursday, win resoundingly, and hope some things go our way.”

Raptors Uprising GC will conclude Tipoff group play on Thursday, June 1st when they take on Cavs Legion GC at 7:30 pm ET.
