Tough One To Take: Despite strong start, Raptors Uprising GC falls 3-1 to Wizards District Gaming

When you talk about series that could have gone either way, this was definitely one of them.
Raptors Uprising GC suffered their second defeat of the week, falling 3-1 to Wizards District Gaming (22-18, 18-21, 18-21, 17-21).
As seen by the scores of each game, this was quite the tightly contested matchup. Both teams were hungry for victory, but ultimately, it was the Wizards who showed their expertise over Toronto in closing out games.
Now 1-2 after three series in 3v3 Seed Weeks, Raptors Uprising knows how important their final two matchups will be in the context of the playoffs.
Toronto got off to a perfect start in Game 1, as Fanta SZN, Big Saint and Type each played their part in steering the squad to an opening 22-18 victory. Fanta’s 10 points and four assists were crucial to Raptors Uprising’s strong start on the night.
Yet, another close contest in Game 2 saw the Wizards record a narrow 21-18 win to level things up. Fanta scored 10 points once again, but it was Kapp’s 11 that ultimately proved to be the difference maker.
Game 3 ended with the same scoreline, 21-18 Washington. Momentum may have shifted in the Wizards’ favour, but Toronto was not going down without a fight.
Sadly, it was to be Washington’s day as a 21-17 win in Game 4 sealed a 3-1 series triumph.
Fanta finished with 64 points over the course of the four games, as well as a team high 11 assist. Type led the way in rebounds with 10.
There is no denying the fight this Raptors Uprising team has in them. Their passion for the game is evident week in week out. To go toe-to-toe with one of the best teams in the NBA 2K League is no easy feat, and Toronto knows that it can indeed compete with the very best.
