Switching It Up: Fanta, Kenny, Saint gear up for 3v3 Slam Open

Following a valiant effort at the TIPOFF, Raptors Uprising GC is back in action, this time in the Coinbase NBA 2K League 3v3 SLAM Open.

Just like THE TIPOFF, group play will be remote, and bracket play will take place in Indianapolis. All games can be streamed live on the NBA 2K League’s official Twitch and YouTube accounts.

FantaSZN, Kenny Got Work, and Big Saint will be Toronto’s initial trio for the upcoming tournament, and after some dazzling displays during the TIPOFF, many NBA 2K League viewers are excited to see what they can conjure up when playing 3v3. While veterans Dimez and Type will sit out to start, the team has plenty of depth and versatility to put a different lineup on the court if needed.

At the TIPOFF tournament, Raptors Uprising won four out of five in group play before falling to the 76ers in the round of 16.

Despite early elimination in bracket play, fans were able to see multiple glimpses of how well this Toronto team can play together, especially during that notable win over Knicks Gaming.

But now, 5v5 becomes 3v3, and Raptors Uprising has their sights set on a strong tournament, as well as a return to Indianapolis.

Toronto will first have an immediate rematch against the 76ers in their first group game. then, Raptors Uprising will take on Basketball Godz and Knicks Gaming. Unlike group play in the TIPOFF, each team will face each other twice in Slam Open group play.

“We’ve already been prepping. We’re excited for 3v3,” said MLSE esports manager Kevin Truong.

Group play will run from April 26th to May 6th. Studio play will then take place from May 11th to May 14th.
