Raptors Uprising swap picks with Gen. G to move up in 2020 NBA 2K League Draft

TORONTO, Ont.—The NBA 2K League’s two international teams struck a deal on Wednesday.

Raptors Uprising GC announced today that the team has swapped a pair of second-round picks in the upcoming Season 3 NBA 2K League Draft with expansion side Gen. G Tigers of Shanghai.

Toronto will receive picks no. 27 and 42 in 2020, while in exchange they will send Gen. G Tigers picks no. 32 and 34.

With the trade officially completed, Raptors Uprising own four selections in Saturday’s Season 3 Draft: No. 11, 27, 42 and 52. Barring another trade, those four picks will be used to round out their six-player roster, which currently boasts two talented returning veterans in Kenneth “Kenny Got Work” Hailey and Jerry “Sick x 973” Knapp.

Toronto now has two assets remaining that it can move before the trade deadline (end of Week 12), as new league rules state that teams may only deal up to five assets during the 2020 season. On Oct. 21, Raptors Uprising traded Season 2 player Frederick “Doza” Mendoza to Cavs Legion GC in exchange for a second-round pick in 2020, which now belongs to Gen. G following Wednesday’s transaction.

The NBA 2K League Season 3 Draft is set to take place Saturday, February 22 at 6 p.m. ET at Terminal 5 in New York City. Those in Toronto can also stream the event at Twitch.tv/RaptorsGC.
