Raptors Uprising GC Week 4 Recap

New York, New York – NBA 2K League Studios
Week 4 of the NBA 2K League was an action packed double header for the squad; here is a quick recap of what went down.

Game 1 – Raptors Uprising (1-3) vs Knicks Gaming (1-3)

Game one was between two teams facing double headers in Week 4 of the NBA 2K League, with the Knicks on the back half after falling to Kings Guard 60-71 earlier that afternoon.

The game started off as a nail bitter with Detoxys heating up early putting up 16 points through the game’s first 10 minutes, although the Knicks proceeded to lock him down in the second half holding the PF to only four points through the game’s final 12 minutes.

The Raps went 4-of-16 from deep in the second half allowing the Knicks to take advantage, outscoring 38-25 after holding a mere 4-point lead heading to the break.

The game resulted in a final score of 73-56 New York, leaving the Uprising with a 1-4 record heading into game two of their doubleheader.

Game 2 – Raptors Uprising (1-4) vs Blazer5 Gaming (3-0)

“Instant classic”, words used by NBA 2K League commentator Scott Cole following the Raptors three point loss to the league leading Portland Blazer5 Gaming. Despite a 40-point combined effort from front-court duo Detoxys and Yusuf, the boys fell 69-66 to Blazer5 Gaming in overtime leaving Portland with the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Mid-Season Tournament.

The Blazers lead by two at the half, up 30-28 thanks to shooting from Dat Boy Shotz, although the Raps kept it close due to Detoxys strong performance in the paint with what was his second of two impressive performances on the Week.

Raptors Uprising started the second half with a 10-3 run pushing their lead to 10, although Blazer5 Gaming responded with an 11-2 run of their own to begin the fourth quarter, including an off-balance buzzer beater by GRANT MONSTER to tie the game at 57 a piece.

Both teams quickly transitioned into extra’s, with the Blazers outscoring the Raps 10-7 in the frame propelling them to their 4th straight victory.
This was the third time the Raptors Uprising have fallen in extra’s this season, leaving them with a 1-5 record and a task to battle Pacers Gaming for a spot in the NBA 2K League’s Mid-Season Tournament, “THE TURN”.
