TORONTO, Canada—The NBA 2K League announced on Saturday that Raptors Uprising GC point guard Kenneth “Kenny Got Work” Hailey has been chosen as the recipient of the NBA 2K League Fan Engagement Award for Season 3.
Awarded to the player who demonstrates outstanding fan engagement through social media and content creation, Kenny embraced the spotlight as he emerged as the face of the NBA 2K League.
Whether it was partaking in countless interviews, hopping on live Periscopes, streaming on Twitch, or sending off a league-stopping tweet, the 30-year-old native of Memphis was as dialed in off the court as he was on the court.
Both NBA 2K League officials and fans determined the award with each accounting for 50 per cent of the vote.
The NBA 2K League Fan Engagement Award is Kenny’s ninth individual accolade since May. In addition to two tournament MVPs, the Raptors Uprising’s all-time leading scorer has been named Player of the Month on two occasions and Player of the Week four times in Season 3.
Originally taken 11th overall in the inaugural NBA 2K League Draft, Kenny Got Work is the longest-serving Raptors Uprising player and is the only player to represent Toronto in all three NBA 2K League seasons. Helping Raptors Uprising reach unprecedented heights, the NBA 2K League leading scorer is averaging career-bests in points (35.3), assists (8.3), and steals (3.5).
