Kenny Got Work named NBA 2K League Player of the Month after perfect May

TORONTO, Canada—The NBA 2K League announced Monday guard Kenneth “Kenny Got Work” Hailey has been named the NBA 2K League’s Player of the Month for May. Kenny earns Player of the Month honours for the first time in his career and becomes the first Raptors Uprising player to win the award.

Kenny, the Raptors Uprising’s all-time leading scorer, averaged 32.9 points, 6.4 assists and 3.1 steals across 14 series games in May. He shot .608 (180-for-296) from the field and .520 (65-for-125) from three-point range as Toronto finished the month atop the 2020 NBA 2K League standings.

Kenny began May helping Raptors Uprising sweep Season 2 finalists 76ers GC (2-0 series) on May 5, highlighted by a career-high 51-point performance. He also guided Raptors Uprising to a franchise record six straight wins and scored at least 30 points in nine of their 14 series games. Kenny concluded the month with a 43-point effort in a victory over Hawks Talon GC.

Originally taken 11th overall in the inaugural NBA 2K League Draft, the Memphis native picks up his third accolade of the 2020 season after earning NBA 2K League Player of the Week awards in Week 1 and Week 3. The 30-year-old is the longest-serving Raptors Uprising player and is the only player to represent Toronto in all three NBA 2K League seasons.

In Week 6, Raptors Uprising (7-0) take on Blazer5 Gaming (4-3) on Thursday, June 11 (9 p.m. EST) and Celtics Crossover Gaming (0-5) on Friday, June 12 (7 p.m. EST) after beating NetsGC in Week 5. Both games can be streamed live on Twitch and YouTube.
