Back To Business: Raptors Uprising GC split opening doubleheader in Switch Open

Raptors Uprising GC began The Switch group play with a win and loss against Wizards District Gaming and Pacers Gaming respectively.

Toronto started the evening off with a memorable five-game victory over Washington (22-10, 23-19, 17-22, 14-22, 23-20) before dropping their second series of the night to the Pacers (22-14, 14-22, 16-21, 10-21).

With those two opening results, Raptors Uprising are currently 1-1 with six series left to play in their group.

Beginning the proceedings against the Wizards, Toronto came out the gates hungry and took Games 1 and 2 to set the tone early.

Yet, Washington bounced right back to level the series and force a Game 5. What happened next you ask?

Well, with the game very in the balance, Gazulli finished things off from three-point land to give Toronto a 23-10 win, as well as a 3-2 series victory.

Momentum was very much on Raptors Uprising’s side ahead of their second series of the night, and in Game 1 against the Pacers, Toronto comfortably won 22-14.

In spite of that bright start, Indiana fought back and ultimately took control of the series to win three straight games and take it 3-1 in the end.

Stats-wise over the two series, Mooch finished the night with a team-high 87 points while also leading the team in assists with 18. Gazulli helped himself to a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds as Haam also came through in scoring with 51 points.

Post-game, Putback reflected on the squad’s opening two series of the Switch Open.

“Won one, lost one, but it was a tough loss in the end, missed shots cost us, and we beat ourselves tonight.”

Putback also discussed how important it was to record at least one victory on the night.

“We needed that because we’ve only got 40 points as of right now.”

“Hopefully others start losing too so we can move up in the standings.”

Raptors Uprising GC is right back in action on Wednesday, April 5th with another doubleheader. Toronto takes on 76ers GC at 6:45 pm ET before facing off against T-Wolves gaming at 9:45 pm ET.
